Why do I love public radio? It's a companion.
Radio sounds like someone speaking or singing two inches from your ear. It's intimate. It's informative. It's also imaginative—your mind sees what the radio says.
Public radio is accessible. Free. Ephemeral. Regional. No internet needed. No algorithms written by bro-ligarchs. Radio's always there for you—on sunny Saturday mornings and late, lonely nights. Because it's meant just for you, paradoxically, it's meant for all.
Public radio is accessible to 99% of the American population, yet some in Congress are sabotaging it.
